Attention Architecture™

The Practice of Staying Connected in the Age of AI

Most people think they have a productivity problem. What many are actually feeling is an attention problem.

What is Attention Architecture?

Attention Architecture, the human discipline created by James Welniak and co-founder Marcos Welniak of KUP Advisory, describes how attention moves through three connected states: Awaken, Claim and Integrate.

In plain words, it is the practice of deciding what gets your attention instead of letting everything else decide for you.

In AI, "attention" describes how machines weigh information. Attention Architecture describes how humans notice, choose and recover.

Three connected states

AWAKEN: Notice. Feel when your attention is being pulled, and by what.

CLAIM: Focus. Choose where your attention goes, and give it fully.

INTEGRATE: Recover. Step out of the loop so the mind and body can reset.

Practiced together, across a 24-hour rhythm. Human leads. AI supports.

Why we built it

I was diagnosed with ADD and hyperactivity as a child. My mind was always fast. I built a career in an always-on world, including years as a Chief of Staff, until I reached the point where I could no longer keep pace.

What I learned is that attention can be trained. You learn to feel when it is being pulled, create space to step out of the loop, and return on purpose. That is how we begin to reclaim choice.

DIAGNOSE: An Executive Attention Assessment shows where your team's attention goes, and what it costs.

TEACH: Workshops and learning programs that teach Awaken, Claim and Integrate to leaders and teams.

EMBED: Attention Architecture Intelligence (AAI) supports the practice day to day, so it lasts after the workshop ends.

For leaders, chiefs of staff and support teams, teams rolling out AI, and schools building a plan for life after phones.

Something's coming: a new show about attention in the age of AI.

Stay Connected. Protect Yours.
